Rio Rancho Foursquare Church

Welcome to Arms of Love Fellowship

We call ourselves Arms of Love because we believe that actions speak louder than words and as Christians, we are called to be the arms of love to those in need. Our goal in pastoring is not so much to grow a big church, but to grow big people.

Our Mission

To be the salt of Rio Rancho by feeding the hungry, replenishing the thirsty, welcoming the strangers, clothing the naked, and visiting the sick and imprisoned.

Weekly Pastor's Corner

March 7, 2010 by Pastor Marty Himmel

This country is full of "Christians" - we're even considered a "Christian" country. Statistics say that somewhere between 70 and 85 percent (depending on the poll) of the people in the United States consider themselves to be Christian. Jesus spoke quite a bit about that.

Jesus talks about the final judgment in Matthew 25:31-46. In verses 41-46, he talks about those who have done all these great acts of kindness in his name - feeding the hungry, visiting the sick and imprisoned, clothing the naked, etc. - yet in the end, he tells them "I never knew you."

Too often, people use Jesus and Christianity as a way to make themselves feel and look better than they really are. There is no true relationship with God, just a title for brownie points. The motives are all wrong. Their actions are for personal gain rather than doing all things as unto the Lord (Colossians 3:23). In that manner, Jesus called the Pharisees on it many times, and warned others to not be like the hypocrites. He wants a relationship with everyone. Not just for a superficial title, but an intimate, two-way, loving relationship that grows and blossoms.

Take a little time to check your motives and ask God to search your heart. Don't live for a public image, but live for the one who gave up the glory of heaven to be with you. Live in a way that when you meet Jesus face to face, he won't say "I never knew you," but rather "Well done, my good and faithful servant. Enter into your master's rest."
